The DTC Data Mining Consortium
DDMC provides a common university wide forum for researchers, industry experts and public sector agencies, all with a shared interest in Data Mining, to work together on projects in order to:
- Provide Solutions to Shared Problems
- Educate Outstanding Graduate Students
- Provide Professional Training
- Enhance the State-of-the-Art
DDMC will be the UMN focal point for industry / university collaboration in Data Mining. This will span Engineering, Computer Science, Business and Management, Life Sciences, Public Health and Medical Instruments and Health Care.
Today more than ever, companies are reaching out to academic partners for R&D partnerships. The DDMC offers the University’s data mining faculty members the opportunity to connect with researchers from other disciplines and with industry. Those connections are helping expand the depth and breadth of data mining research. By focusing on shared pre-competitive or non-competitive research projects members are able to leverage their membership fees along with those of other members and public sector grants, to gain a significant return on their R&D investment, while supporting the University of Minnesota graduate student program.
