New DISC Director of Business Development
The DTC is pleased to announce that Dr. Cory Devor
has accepted our offer to join DISC as the Director of Business Development,
replacing Tom Ruwart who left DISC earlier this year. Cory, who will start
at DISC on April 11, joins DISC most recently from NeuStream, an early stage
storage management software company, where he served as President and CEO.
Prior to NeuStream, Cory launched the networked attached (DiMeda) storage
business at Ciprico in Plymouth MN, where he served as the head of strategic
business development. Prior to being at Ciprico he served as the
Vice-President of Micron Electronics server business in Boise ID and as
the Vice President of Engineering at Tricord Systems in Plymouth MN. Cory
has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University in Evanston.
As Director of Business Development, Cory’s core
responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and fostering contacts with industry, other universities,
and governmental laboratories in the area of intelligent storage
- Fostering the development and growth of DISC through recruiting of
members and other means of financial support
- Assessing and monitoring the state of storage technology
- Participating in the identification of research projects in the area of
intelligent storage
- Representing DISC at national meetings
