Professors Kim and Roumeliotis named McKnight Land-Grant Professors

Professor Yongdae Kim and Professor Stergios Roumeliotis, both of CSE and the DTC, have been named 2006–08 McKnight Land-Grant Professors. Professor Kim is working in the area of practical security for emerging networked systems. Professor Roumeliotis is working in the area of distributed estimation for networks of mobile robots and sensors.

The major purpose of the McKnight Land-Grant Professorship program is to strengthen the University of Minnesota’s faculty for the future. The program is designed to advance the careers of the Universiy’s most promising junior faculty members who are at the beginning stages of their professional careers, and who have the potential to make significant contributions to their scholarly fields and to their departments.
