Research Programs and Support

Proposal Submission Support for DTC Affiliated Faculty

To assist DTC affiliated faculty in obtaining external support for their research projects, the DTC provides administrative support for proposal submission. This support includes the following:

  1. Budget preparation
    • Draft budget based upon information provided by the PI
    • Prepare budget in EGMS and/or Excel
    • Make revisions as required
    • Reformat budget justification as required (note budget justification is to be supplied by investigator) and, for FastLane submissions, upload justification.
  2. Proposal preparation
    • Collect curriculum vitaes from participating investigators and senior personnel
    • Collect current and pending support summaries from participating investigators and senior personnel
    • Reformat documentation so that it meets submission requirements
    • Prepare NSF submission in FastLane. This includes budget entry and file uploading.
    • Scan and upload support letters and matching commitment letter obtained by PI
    • Help coordinate submissions with other institutions
    • Assist in the reviewing of proposal for compliance to agency regulations and proposal call.
    • Print final version of proposal (upon final approval of PI)
    • Distribute copies of proposal to all participating investigators
  3. Proposal submission to SPA
    • Initiate Proposal Routing Form (PRF, formerly known as BA23)
    • Track PRF through authorization process
    • Interact with SPA grant administrator on behalf of PI on issues directly related to the proposal submission
    • Arrange for delivery to SPA.

DTC affiliated faculty are encouraged to arrange for proposal submission assistance as soon as they decide to submit a proposal. Four weeks prior to the deadline is preferred, but exceptions can be made.
